Privacy Policy

Stock Filing Monitor provides stock price lookup, company filing monitoring, watchlists, and filing alerts. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and how users can delete their data.

Data We Collect

• Account information: email address, username, and password. Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes.
• Authentication data: login tokens used to keep users signed in.
• Notification data: Firebase Cloud Messaging device tokens and filing alert history used to deliver and display filing alerts.
• App preferences: favorite stock tickers and filing notification preferences selected by the user.
• Security data: login attempt records, including username, IP address, timestamps, and temporary lockout status, used to prevent brute-force login attempts.
• Technical request data: server logs may include IP address, request time, requested endpoint, and similar operational data.

How We Use Data

• To create and manage user accounts.
• To authenticate users and protect accounts from unauthorized access.
• To save watchlists and notification preferences.
• To send push notifications for selected filing types and favorite stocks.
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve the app and backend service.

Third-Party Services

The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. Firebase may process app instance identifiers, device tokens, app version information, and notification delivery data as part of push notification delivery. The backend also retrieves public market and filing information from external data providers, but it does not sell user data.

Stock Filing Monitor provides information for monitoring purposes only. It does not provide brokerage services, trading execution, investment advice, loans, payments, or cryptocurrency services.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only when needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect users, or use service providers such as Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notification delivery.

Data Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed before storage. Access to administrative functions is restricted to authorized admin users.

Data Retention and Deletion

Account data is retained while the account is active. Users can delete their account in the app from Settings > Delete Account. Account deletion removes the user account, favorite stocks, notification preferences, and stored notification token from the active database.

Read notification history is automatically deleted 30 days after it is marked as read. Users can also delete selected notification history items from the Notifications screen.

Public filing and market-data cache entries are not tied to a specific user account and may be retained to improve performance and reduce external request volume.

Children

The app is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children.
